# Air Jordan 6 Shoes

The Air Jordan 6 (VI) is a basketball sneaker designed for Michael Jordan by the team at NIKE, Inc. Debuted in 1991, the shoe was crafted by Tinker Hatfield with inspiration from MJ’s German sportscar collection. Widely popular and recognizable, the AJ 6 was the model Jordan wore throughout the 1990-91 NBA season, during which he helped the Chicago Bulls win a championship title (and his first ring). Launch colorways of the sixth Air Jordan sneaker included “Black/Infrared” and “White/Carmine/Black” styles, as well as “White/Infrared,” “White/Sport Blue/Black” and “White/Maroon” options. Design-wise, the shoe deviated heavily from the Air Jordan 5, featuring a nubuck upper, neoprene bootie, rear spoiler and taller height. Yet, the Air Jordan VI continued to incorporate a visible Air unit, “NIKE AIR" branding on the heel, and a lace toggle. It wasn’t until 2000 that Jordan’s sixth signature sneaker received its first retro treatment, which included non-original colorways of the shoe. Over the years, the sneaker has released in a low-top trim, surfaced in Player-Exclusive (PE) takes for Brand Jordan athletes and helped usher in an era within the brand’s history that relied on multi-pair packs. The Air Jordan 6 has been celebrating its 30th anniversary throughout 2021. It’s currently priced at $200 USD (adult sizing), with special collaboration retailing for a higher $250 USD.
